THE GOLDEN RULE


HINDUISM

Everything you should do you will find in this:

Do nothing to others

That would hurt you if it were done to you.

- Mahabharata 5:1517


CHRISTIANITY

In everything do to others what

You would have them do to you

For this sums up the law and the prophets.

- Matthew 7 :12


TAOISM

The success of your neighbor and their losses will be to you as if they were your own.

- T'ai-Shang Kan-Ying P'ien


ISLAM

None of you will be true believers

Unless you wish for your brother

The same that you wish for yourself.

- Hadith: Riyad Al-Salihin #236


BUDDHISM

Do not offend others

As you would not want to be offended.

- Udanavarga 5.18


JUDAISM

That which you do not wish for yourself

You should not wish for your neighbor.

That is the whole law: the rest is only commentary.

- Talmud Sabbath 31a


SIKHISM

I am a stranger to no-one and no-one is a stranger to me. Indeed I am a friend to all.

Do not do unto others whatever is

injurious to yourself.
