THERE IS BUT ONE GOD
(THE SOVEREIGN LORD)
- 2 Enoch 66
Enoch teaches his sons and all the elders of the people how they should walk with fear and trembling in front of the LORD, and worship him alone and not bow down to idols, but to the God who created heaven and earth and every kind of creature – and to his image.|
“Now therefore, my children, guard your souls from every kind of injustice, such as the LORD hates. •And walk in front of his face with fear |and trembling|, and worship him alone. |To the true God bow down, not to idols which have no voice, but bow down to his statue|. And every kind of oblation present justly in front of the face of the LORD; but what is unjust the LORD detests.
For the LORD sees everything that a person thinks in his heart. Then reason advises him. 〈For〉 every thought is presented before the LORD |who made the earth firm and settled all the creatures upon it|.
If you look upon the sky, behold, the LORD is there; for the LORD created the sky. If you look upon the earth, then the LORD is there; for the LORD founded the earth, and placed upon it all his creatures. If you meditate upon the depths of the ocean and on all that is beneath the earth, then the LORD is there. Because the LORD created all things.
Do not bow down to anything created by man, nor to anything created by God, so committing apostasy against the LORD of all creation. For no kind of deed is hidden from the face of the LORD.
Walk, my children,
in long-suffering,
in meekness |honesty|,
in affliction,
in distress,
in faithfulness,
in truth,
in hope,
in weakness,
in derision,
in assaults,
in temptation,
in deprivation,
in nakedness,
having love for one another, until you go out from this age of suffering, so that you may become inheritors of the never-ending age.
How happy are the righteous who shall escape the LORD’s great judgment; for they will be made to shine seven times brighter than the sun.
For in that age everything is estimated sevenfold – light and darkness and food and enjoyment and misery and paradise and torture |fire, frost, et cetera|. All this I have put down in writing, so that you might read it and think about it.”

ENOCH'S INSTRUCTION
- 2 Enoch 2
Do not turn away from God,
Walk before his face,
and keep His commandments.
Do not abhor the prayers of your salvation,
So that The LORD will not curtail the work of your hands,
And do not be ungenerous with The LORD'S gifts, and The LORD will not be ungenerous with His donations and love gifts in your storehouses,
And bless The LORD with the firstborn of your herds and the firstborn of your children and the blessing will be on you forever.
And do not turn away from The LORD, and do not worship vain gods, gods who did not create the heaven and the earth or any other created thing for they will perish, and so will those who worship them.
And may God make your heart true in reverence for Him.
And now my children, no-one must search for me until The LORD returns me to you.

FROM 'APOCRYPHON OF JOHN'
GNOSTIC GOSPEL
The One God is a king with nothing above it. It is he who exists as God and Father of everything, the invisible One who rules over everything, who exists as incorruptible, which is in the pure light that no eye can look upon.
He is the invisible Spirit. It is not correct to think of him as a god, or anything similar. He is more than god, since there is nothing above him, for no one is above him. He does not exist within anything inferior to him, because everything exists within him. He has established himself. He is eternal, self-sufficient, and self-sustaining. He is complete perfection. He did not lack anything to be complete and he is continually perfect in light.
He is unlimited, since there was no one before him to limit him. He is unknowable, since there exists no one prior to him to comprehend him. He is immeasurable, since there was no one before him to measure him. He is invisible, since no one has seen him. He is eternal, since he exists always. He is an enigma, since no one was able to apprehend him or explain him. He is unnamable, since there is no one who came before him to give him a name.
He is One, immeasurable light, which is pure, holy and immaculate. He is too sacred to speak of, being perfect and incorruptible. He is beyond perfection, blessedness, and divinity, because he is vastly superior to them all. He is not corporeal nor is he incorporeal. He is One and cannot be qualified or quantified, for no one can know him. He is not one among other beings; instead, he is far superior to all. He is so superior to all things that his essence is not part of the kingdoms, nor is he part of time. He who is a kingdom was created beforehand. Time does not matter to him, since he does not receive anything from another, for it would be received on loan. He who comes first needs nothing from anyone. Such a one expectantly beholds himself in his own light. He is majestic perfection. He is pure, immeasurable mind.
He is a kingdom that gives the kingdoms their kingdom. He is life that gives life. He is the blessed One that blesses. He is knowledge and he gives knowledge. He is goodness that gives goodness. He is mercy and redemption and he bestows mercy. He is grace that gives grace. He does not give because he has these things but he gives the immeasurable, incomprehensible light from which all things flow.

PSALM OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP
My seed shall serve and praise His Name,
while any world shall last.
My seed shall plainly show to them,
thou shalt be born hereafter:
His justice and His righteousness,
and all His works of wonder.
- Scottish Psalter of 1650
